Are we teaching our kids to be violent?
June 17th 2008 09:57
Do game-boys and computer games, ones with violence n stuff, cause kids to be violent towards each other?
Michael was bashed in the face at school today by a 'friend' who then seemed surprised at the damage he inflicted and the pain and shock received.
It has been kind of established that this friend may have some anger issues which have to be dealt with. Outwardly he seems a nice kind of kid. pretty quiet tho.
Michael tells me there is a lot of play-station and games and stuff going on in his home which guns and swords and things.
Do kids get immune and not realise that violence does actually hurt people?
The doctor, who I had to take Michael to to check he didn't have a broken nose or damaged retina, thinks violent video games are the cause of some of the trouble recurrent in night clubs at the moment.
What are your thoughts?

Unquestionably yes.
My son is obsessed with games of violence. His eyes go black and distant and becomes aggressive when asked to finish. For a while after finishing he is unpleasant, sulky and tends to slam doors.
Why do we let them spend so much time at this black pastime???
