Harness the Hot Air spoken by the Pope?

My daughter asks me: why can't we run our cars on methane? Well, why can't we?
The kids saw some show the other day where people in Sydney were converting gases produced by rubbish to produce energy, electric energy I think.
Don't you think, dear readers, that technology really does have the answers to the current global energy issue, if only we stop long enough to listen?
We visited the Portland wind farms last year, cos I wanted the kids to see these wonderful 'Tele Tubbie' constructions. By contrast, they also saw the aluminum smelter at the top of the cliffs at Portland and the long power lines snaking across the country to power it.
Do you realise some people actualy protest against wind turbines? Saying they are ugly or something. Can you imagine that????
Anyway, no doubt you are fed up with all the talk about the environment and just wish the government would stop bleating about it and get on and fix the problem so we can all settle back and enjoy watching China prepare for the Olympics, right?
Sales of giant plasmas has gone trhough the roof apparently as the public gear up for next months big event.
Bigger than the Papal visit, if you can believe it.
Can you imagine the energy consumption? Still, no expense should be spared in our human endeavour for perfection in sport. Drug-free of course.
Australia is a country who loves its sport. Watching it, not playing it though.
Bit bitter and twisted tonight, sorry.
