Disorientated....
July 8th 2008 01:55
I am in a real mess of disorientation and need help. Where or what consitutes 'home'?
Is it where your job is?
Where your kids go to school? Where your kids are the happiest? Where your husband works? Where you are the happiest? Where he is the happiest?
If your spouse moves to take up a job, are you entitled to move with him? Are the kids entitled to be with their father and mother together?
My hubby tells me that he moving is 'nothing to do with me'. That kind of upset me.
Do you stay put as you have been told to do, even if the family is separated?
Yesterday I drove from Emu to Horsham. Quite a long drive by all accounts. Horsham boasts a wonderful new indoor pool to which I took the kids, after showing them where their father now works. (in offices below what looks to have been a former brothel).
Later, in the squalling wind and rain we drove the 35 minutes to Minyip, where my hubby is staying. (famous for being the set of the Flying Doctor series). If you think I am disorientated, try him: he is dazed from the rapidity of events.
Leaving him in icy splendour me and the kids drove home in apalling conditions of hail and darkness, reaching Emu after a round trip of some hundred k's.
I wake this morning with my bronchitis re-asserting itself, Mattie coming down with a cold and Lisa asking when are we moving to Horsham.
I want to flee back down to Melbourne and civilization. But what is left there for me? Is that home?
Really, I have no idea. As I told you at the outside of this little chat, I am disorientated and all the worse for it.
Help me someone.....
