And by all accounts it will be a brilliant weekend! I can hardly wait!!!!
This amazing event will be held at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre which I have told you about before. That is also where you can go and see that wonderful mansion I bored you witless about, and the famous open-range zoo.
The three day event is the final selection opportunity for Aussie horses and riders who are aiming for the Bejing Olympics and therefore will feature a number of high-profile event riders.
Ever heard of Gillian Rolton? Heath Ryan, Amanda Howell, Oliva Bunn? Stuart Tinney, Wendy Schaeffer, Shane Rose and Sonja Johnson?
Yep, they'll all be there. With their lovely, beautiful magnificent horses ready to prance around all over the place.
Can't wait.
First comes the dressage: high level,complicated movements demonstrating superior agility, skill, control and concentration.
Sunday is the amazing, terrifying cross-country, where the horse and rider tackle enormous jumps and gallop for miles across paddocks. Very, very exciting!
Sunday and most of Monday will feature the show-jumping phase, with jumps up to 1.7 metres.
Don't forget the riders and their mounts have to pass successfully through each stage and there are often many thrills and spills along the way.
All in all it is a great event if you are horsey and even if you are not, it is a fascinating insight into the tough world of equestrian eventing.
