Shatter those illusions..... (LINK)

The other day I was up early and drove past magnificent Mount Macedon en-route to a horse event. Up the fir-tree lined Calder Freeway just outside Melbourne?
Through the rain and fog we could see an icing-sugar dusting of snow. During a momentary parting of heavy grey clouds thick snowy drifts could be seen, sliding down amongst the undergrowth. Tiny snowflakes clung to the windscreen.
The windows were duly wound down and we were subjected to an exhilarating icy blast. Wow!!!!!
Two hours later it was all gone. Did we imagine it? Icy illusion.
Another weekend has rolled around and though there is no snow today we have had squall after splattering squall of rain.
The seedling I planted a few weeks ago have been battered away by the loving drops.
Digging deep into the guinea-pig cage, dragging out layer after layer of pea-straw and poo-engorged mulch for the fruit trees, I came across a nest of tiny fresh ear-wigs.
Hundreds of ‘em. Milling around and falling over them selves to get back under some soiled bedding.
Did those guinea-pigs know their bed was infested? It looked ok from the surface. (did they care???).
But how do we know what little bugs and nasties are nestling under our own beds and duvets? (dove-ets, my daughter pronounces them).
Brings me to the topic of illusion.
Is illusion the modern-day equivalent of clever marketing, of one’s self, one’s lifestyle, one’s marriage?
How many people do you know who ‘present’ really well, who appear to have it all sorted, only to find when you get to know them, scratch the surface, that things are not what they seem at all???
Take China, busy creating an illusion of a ‘happy’ Olympics, bussing in spectators, faking this, faking that.
We are all busy faking it. Keeping up appearances. Pretending the illusion is enough.
Well, I’m here to tell you that that sucks.
I am disillusioned with illusions. Sick of faking ‘happy families’. Wealth. Pretending everything is fine.
I want the real deal or nothing at all.

Perhaps everything that we think we perceive is simply a shadow on the wall of the cave. Really Long Link
We only know what we believe we know. Logical empiricism is a cant.
Trust in your; find calm in your beliefs.
"We have both have truths. Are the mine the same as yours?" asked Pilate. But there ARE fundamental human truths find them, take heart that they are there for you, and for all of us.
