Melting Moments, Pooling and Walls of Foam

We are experiencing a heat-wave in this neck of the woods, no doubt about it. Adelaide has had the longest run of the highest temperatures since records began. Now it is Melbourne's turn.
On a weekend where our fair city is hosting the Royal Summer Horse Show and the delightful Grand Prix, visitors have been able to enjoy days of near 40 degrees celsius. This must have been particularly pleasant at the race-track, where one could abosrb ultra-violet rays combined with the rich odours of highly tuned cars mingling with alcohol, tobacco and hot-dogs.
Nice.
My own small family, residing as we do within metres of a heated public pool, are ardent swimmers. Leaving our puppy to lap milk we go off regularly to do laps of our own, which I find wonderfully calming.
Then I play in the water with the kids, usually some complicated game based on a Dr. Who episode, or maybe a re-enactment of a scene from 'Jaws'. You know the type of thing.
This weekend we started off pooling on Friday night, which relaxed us beautifully. Saturday afternoon seemed a perfect time to loll about in the near-empty blueness, while this morning, once the sun had burned the fog off and the heat emerged, saw us splashing around once again.
That was after my son had woken me at 6.30 am to show me the 6 hot-air balloons near our rooftop, ( a regular occurence but he is always stunned by the view) and I had taken the pup for an energetic bike ride/run.
Now, however, we are all slumping. The heat is getting to us. We are actually watching the 'Biggest Loser', though we hate the show. We are waiting for the promised 'sea breeze'. The kids are asking if they can have the day off school tomorrow?
My son, spurred on by his new set of flippers, is having a deep cold bath.....
er, actually, hold that, alerted by his calls we all ran into his bathroom to find he had created a wall of foam 30cm high! Not impressed..........
