Swagmen watching the Billabongs?

MSAC was, frankly, a terrifying-looking venue to swim in.
I took Matty for her zone event yesterday and we were overwhelmed by the huge number of school swimming teams, spectators, officials and teachers. Not to mention the sheer scale of the place itself.
Off she went with her team to warm up (er, should I say join the other groups of teenagers socializing in the warm water?) while I wandered around observing, as I love to do.
Watched some high-diving comps; observed the hundreds of adolsecents buzzing around in Billabong and Roxy, chatting, flirting and occasionally concentrating on their races.
For there was some serious competetiveness going on, make no mistake.
Some of these students, for all their 'cool' exteriors, were thirsting to go to State level.
Behind the gym mats I heard teachers 'bonding' their teams or giving last minute instructions.
In the change rooms, girls asked each other 'did their bums look big?', etc, or re-adjusted Speedo hats and goggles, fashionable, serious swimmers' 'must-haves'.(in Australian flag colours).
Up in the stands I located our team and found myself seated near a couple of 'dubious' looking older gentlemen, who were watching events (or kids?) keenly.
Nasty nasty me- I thought immediately: paedophiles!!
Isn't that awful, horrible, mean-spiritied of me???
And what a great event to attend if that was your bent: free entry, hundreds of nubile bodies to spy on covertly, anybody, anybody could wander in unquestioned......
There was something about the look of those two men................
Matty's team came fifth, by the way.....
