Woken by the China disaster

First Burma. Now China: what is going on in the world?
It is a shock to be woken from a deep sleep at 6am by the dumb clock radio which announces starkly and without preamble that a massive earthquake in China has killed 9 000 people. Particularly horrible and sad is the image of 900 schools kids buried instantly.
Immediately one is dragged up from whatever dream has been consuming ones sleep and forced to face a terrible reality.
God, what a nightmare.
Don't you think heaven must be getting really crowded with all these lost souls?
Like you, dearest reader, my heart goes out to the poor people caught up in this next world tragedy.
Well, have to trundle off to school where the highly controversial Literacy and Numeracy Tests (formerlely AIMS) are going to start.
Now you can see why the teachers pay dispute was sorted last week, but you knew that didn't you?
