Bindi Irwin Just Got Engaged At Australia Zoo On Her 21st Birthday

by Admin

As you no doubt know, Bindi Irwin is the daughter of late 'crocodile hunter' Steve Irwin, who was (and still is) absolutely loved by almost everyone. Bindi recently announced that she is now engaged to her long time partner of 6 years, Chandler Powell.

Powell popped the question at Bindi's 21st birthday party, which happened to be at Australia Zoo. The happy couple were surrounded by friends and family by what was a day to remember.

She posted this to Instagram on July 24th, 2019:

July 24th 2019 ❤️ On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life.
Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!

Bindi told ET the upcoming wedding will take place ‘sometime next year'. She also said that she wants Robert (her brother) to be the one to walk her down the aisle, as Steve can't be with her.

She wants to ensure she honors the memory of her dad though, so the wedding will be very family incorporated.

She said:

I think that for me, it’ll be really important that Robert walks me down the aisle. That’s something that I really want to do.
I’m always so grateful that Robert is there, and he has been such a big part of my life and he’s always stepped up and been the one to give me a hug when I need it and encourage me forward in life. So he will definitely be the one to walk me down the aisle when the time comes, and I think that will make it really special.
And I think that’s what dad would have wanted as well.

It's pretty awesome that they met at Australia Zoo, and 6 years later, got engaged there!

Bindi and Robert’s dad, the widely loved 'crocodile hunter' Steve Irwin, would have loved to see these moments, but unfortunately he passed.

The good news though, is his wife Terri and children Bindi and Robert have carried on his legacy, by caring for and treating animals at Australia Zoo in Queensland. They've also appeared in their own show called 'Crikey! It's the Irwins'.
