For many people, one the most iconic parts of childhood are the pets they had. Options that parents would agree to are normally limited.
Most of the time the options are one or two of the following: a cat, a dog, a fish and/or maybe a reptile of some sort.
That has all changed with the introduction of a new desktop jellyfish aquarium that you can have in your own home called 'Jelly Tank'. This revolutionary pet concept was made possible by two brothers who pitched their idea on Kickstarter.
While the concept was met with some roadblocks, the end result is undeniably brilliant.
The twins explain on their Kickstarter, the process of putting together this on of a kind tank.
"After owning the tank for less than three weeks, the tank kept sucking the jellyfish through the grates and shredding them. It was very discouraging considering the tank was not only expensive, but we were killing jellyfish. So feeling defeated by these jellyfish tanks, we set out to design and develop a sustainable tank that would keep our jellyfish happy and healthy."
Examples of places this brilliant design could work include your home, your office or a classroom.
In terms of price, this tank will set you back $325, which includes the tank and a helpful starter kit. Please note that the jellyfish are not included in this.Regardless, if this interests you, it really is good value for all you get included.
It would make for an interesting conversation starter at any meeting you may have.
Although, if you do not like it in the space you put it in then you're in luck as it is portable.
As well as the included information there are also helpful videos on the website to assist you in setting up the tank.
The design is pretty simple. It includes two filtration sources, a pump to mimic ocean currents (as much as possible) and LEDs to give that iconic colourful design.
Overall, this concept as well as the final design is truly revolutionary and is incredibly eye catching. If you want to check them out for yourself, you can find them on the Kickstarter or their website.
